Hospital care

The Critical Care & Pulmonary Consultants Inpatient Admitting Team is a group of board-certified pulmonary specialists, critical-care physicians and internists who provide hospital care for those of our patients who require hospital admission.

Their availability throughout your hospital stay allows them to coordinate care with other medical specialists and to provide comprehensive inpatient treatment. The Inpatient Admitting Team communicates and coordinates post-hospital care with our office.

Adult Primary Care

Internal medicine is a specialty that concentrates on adult health care. The internal medicine physician (internist) has at least three years of extensive training in general medicine as well as diseases of the heart, lung, blood, gastrointestinal tract, genitourinary system, skin, and musculoskeletal system.

Primary care is a philosophy of health care that considers the patient as a whole person and not just an illness to be cured or treated. As your first contact with the health-care system, your primary care doctor must not only be knowledgeable about many diseases, but also must exercise good judgment in coordinating your care within our complex health-care system.

Your primary care physician is competent to handle most medical problems, but will also refer those patients requiring more specialized diagnosis and treatment to the appropriate specialist. Our patients should consider our office as "home base".

If you are uncertain as to where to go for treatment of a particular problem, please give us a call for proper advice and direction.
